About Jackie
Perhaps the only thing Jackie Von Schlegel loves more than guiding buyers to the Hill homes they'll
love living in are Peaches, Pooh Bear and Sugar Bear.
The 'real estate lady with the cats' - as some of her pint-size clients call her -is equally comfortable maneuvering on land and sea as well as in the sky. Did you know that Jackie lived on a boat in Southwest prior to moving to the Hill in 1992? She is also a private pilot who trained in a 1968 Alon Aircoupe plane.
Jackie is a widow who was married for 24 years to Robert Von Schlegel, who was the Washington's director of NBC's "Today" show. Her kiddies are those beloved kitties, the "chairpurrsons" of the Von Schlegel Realty team!
Jackie was a mortgage banker for two decades, serving as a vice president at Merrill Lynch Mortgage Corp. and U.S. Home Mortgage Corp. In 1988, she earned her D.C., Maryland and Virginia real estate licenses, launching a storied career that includes a number of awards, including:

Peter N. Principe
Peter Principe was born to a career buying and selling the elegant row houses and chic
condominiums of Washington, D.C.
The son of a builder and the grandson of a real estate broker, this third-generation Washingtonian has a keen interest in history (which he studied at the University of Maryland) and in historic architecture, which he explores through courses at the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Licensed since 1995, Peter has made a particular specialty of condominiums on the Hill and in the Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan and Woodley Park neighborhoods of the capital city.
"Condos are a smart place to put your money," he counsels would-be buyers. "They have a very strong resale value in D.C. However, the condo and single-family home markets are very different."
"Understanding the differences in value and amenities of the individual buildings, the condo fee structures and other factors is extremely important," Peter continues. He's developed a reputation for his skill in helping clients make sense of all these considerations in their quest for a new place to live.
Peter lives in Washington with his Springer spaniel, Leda, and his Cavalier King Charles, Sadie, who love to tag along with him on weekends in his cabin in West Virginia.
James C. Thomley
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, James is completely fluent in Spanish.
He studied Music Performance at the University of North Texas, and during
the Clinton and Bush Administrations played clarinet for the White
House as a member of "The President's Own". James also served in both
the Army and Marine Corps as an active duty Staff Sergeant for eight years.
Previously affiliated with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, in May of 2008, James found his opportunities to be greater by moving to RE/MAX Allegiance on Capitol Hill. This move proved to be rewarding as just a few months later in December of 2008, James joined the Von Schlegel Realty Team.
"The opportunity to work with such a well established team and their incredible work ethic is the reason I wanted to join the team," he says. James is excited to be a part of the Von Schlegel team. "Everybody backs everybody up," he says. "I wanted to be able to work independently, but also to have the support that I needed."
James' experience, past and present, gives him the ability to provide superior customer service to a broad range of clients.
James currently resides in Cheverly, MD
