What's a Buyer's Agent?
In the old days, real estate agents represented the seller only, and the buyer had to beware. Today, buyers like you are much more savvy. They want their own representation, someone looking out specifically for their interests - not those of the seller.
Our team's buyer agents are hired by you and work only for you. Each has a slightly unique combination of expertise - suburban, urban, private homes, coops and condos. And all are soon to be Certified Buyer's Representatives - CBR's - a credential awarded only to those that have successfully completed professional training from the Washington Board of REALTORS®. That means that after helping find the home that's perfect for you, we'll be on the lookout for any drawbacks to the building, the neighborhood, or the price - so that you can get the best possible terms of sale.
Of course, the agent that is selling the house has a duty to treat all buyers fairly. But remember: that agent is working for the owner - not for you. Anything that you reveal about your needs and desires is between you and your agent. The agent cannot and will not disclose any private information about you to the seller, but will keep your interests first and disclose every bit of information possible to you to inform your decisions.
It's a tremendous service - and it's provided at absolutely NO cost to you. While we're working entirely on your behalf, the seller pays all commissions. That's spelled out in the contract.
